Feedburner Pushing Toward Accountability in RSS

With this new release on stats, FB is doing a number of things, but the new feature that raises my eyebrows is this:

TotalStats (Premium Service)

* Reach (TotalStats): Another new concept and metric that tells you what percentage of your total subscriber base is actively reading and clicking on individual items within a feed. Like newspapers or magazines, some number of people subscribe and another number actively open and act on content. Reach begins to provide some insight into this second metric.

Proving audience for advertising purposes has been one of RSS's major obstacles. I'll be checking this out!

This is an interesting development. I have been wondering how RSS readers behave vs. manual navigators to the site.

I tried an experiment on how to make an RSS feed subscriber leave their readers and visit my blog. It worked. I will be doing more experiments on RSS subscribers and using Dada techniques. That's all I am at liberty to say now.

Just read some reviews of The Search on Amazon. Good job on it, John.

I think I agree with most of what you say, except I disbelieve in the necessity of doing business with China. I choose India instead, whom we are arming as a strategy against Iran and Commie China.
