VP of finance
This key member of the management team will proactively influence the executive team on strategy and tactical operations as the organization continues to develop and expand its business model.

Inside Sales Manager
FM is looking for a self-motivated, career-oriented sales professional to help us build our inside sales team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about online media and believe strongly in its value to marketers. The inside sales manager will make outbound sales calls to targeted customers, working the entire sales process - from initial contact to close - for prospects both large and small.

Director of Event Sales
Earlier this year, FM hosted its first conference, the CM Summit, which sold out, and promises to be a great event series in 2008. We also helped GigaOm, one of our authors, produce a wildly successful event NewTeeVee Live. Now we need a superior sales pro to join our team to help us build this business for 2008 and beyond.

Experienced PHP / MySQL Developer
Our engineering team is seeking a talented and dedicated person to help build the next generation of our advertising platform. We're looking for someone who is a good fit for our small team, and who wants to really get things done. Experience with blogs and blogging software a plus.

Sales: Account Executive

We're looking for high-energy account executives in both San Francisco and New York. You'll need to have at least 3 years of online advertising sales experience. The perfect candidate has existing relationships with media buyers and advertising clients. Required skills include fluency with media-buying terminology (eg, CPM v. CPA, reach v. frequency, GIF v. Flash), familiarity with online ad-serving platforms (eg, Doubleclick's Mediavisor), proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint.

FM Gets Green

Kate McLaughlin joins FM as a Regional Sales Manager in our New York office. Previously, Kate served as a Regional Manager, Brand Marketing with Ziff Davis Media/Enterprise focusing on both print and online platforms. Prior to her two year stint at Ziff Kate held a sales position with TransPerfect Translations. Kate earned a degree in Business and Organizational Behavior Studies from Muhlenberg College (a credit shy of a minor in dance). When not at FM, Kate spends her time running, snowboarding, reading and watching trashy reality TV shows.Welcome to FM, Kate!

Congrats to Ars Technica

Congratulations to Ars Technica who yesterday announced their sale to Conde Nast. We at FM are thrilled for our friends and long-time partners at Ars. We've enjoyed working closely with Ken Fisher and the rest of the Ars team on some of our favorite marketing projects. Clearly, Conde Nast saw the value we've helped to create and we're excited to see where they take Ars in the future. Ken and his team worked very, very hard for the past decade on building the Ars brand, and the result is one of the best tech sites on the Web. And we are particularly proud of what Ken has to say about FM in his announcement:

Boing Boing TV celebrates 150th episode

Congrats to the team at Boing Boing TV on their 150th episode. Here's the press release. When Xeni Jardin and team launched the project back in October 2007, she described it thusly:

"This is not the result of a business plan, or a corporate focus group. We promise no huffy manifestos about Taking Down The Networks with A New Television Paradigm, no breathless hyperbole about Reinventing Citizen Journalism With the Disintermediation of Long Tail Postmodernist Blogonomics -- gah!

We just want to have fun and explore interesting things with you. But, y'know, now with video, because video allows you to explore stuff that text, photos, and audio -- all the things we've experimented with so far -- do not.

We don't intend to take ourselves too seriously. And we're not trying to be TV. Same old Boing Boing, but with talkies."

Now, less than a year later, with millions of views and countless BBtv addicts around the globe, they've produced their 150th episode. Congrats all!

Josh Stivers
Josh Stivers joins FM as VP, Ad Operations. Josh comes to FM with extensive experience in growing and managing Sales, Marketing and Product Management functions at many Silicon Valley companies including Digital Island, Cable and Wireless and Habeas. Prior to joining FM, Josh served as VP of Sales & Marketing with On Point Personnel. In between gigs, Josh is an avid guitar player, roman history buff and enjoys sitting on tropical beaches doing absolutely nothing at all. Welcome to the family, Josh!

Paige Thomas
Paige Thomas joins us as our new Account Executive for FM Events.

Paige comes to Federated Media with an advertising background in traditional print media. She most recently came from SPIN, where she was Pacific Northwest Manager. She has also worked for VIBE, Cosmopolitan, and CosmoGIRL! magazines. Paige is really looking forward to bringing her background in traditional brand marketing, to the exciting new world of conversational marketing. Paige is native to the Bay Area, and after leaving for 4 great years to attend University of Arizona, she knew immediately she would make San Francisco her home. Paige loves checking out live music, traveling, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. Welcome to FM, Paige!

Most recently Zac worked as a Real Estate Treasury Accountant for Forest City Ratner Companies in Brooklyn, NY. Outside of work he likes to write and record songs and travel as much as possible. When you do that you’re likely to have a more emotional experience with the Haagen Dazs brand - creating brand equity that will lead you to make different purchasing decisions when you go to the grocery store. This is really hard to do on the internet, which is just awash in banner ads."
